Hyotan Island Park

Hyotan Island Park

Hyotan Island This park, opened in April of 2000, preserves the shape of the creek as it was. It is roughly 700 meters from north to south and 1.8 kilometers in circumference.
The name of the park comes from the fact that the area surrounded in the creek to the south of the park resembles a hyotan (or "calabash" in English). It is a park with a creek which mimics the nature of Hyogo prefecture.
Many people visit the park in summer to enjoy the 150,000 or so sunflowers that bloom in August. Do come and see for yourself!
