Ogi Park

Ogi Park

Ogi Park Ogi Park is a well-known park built by Motoshige Nabeshima and Naoyoshi Nabeshima, the first and second lords of Ogi Domain. While offering beautiful seasonal scenery at any time of the year, the recommended time of the year to visit would have to be the sakura in spring. The beauty of the sakura in Ogi Park is said to have been so great it was even heard about by the royal court. Boasting around 3000 sakura trees chosen as one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom, spots in Japan (Japan Cherry Blossom Association), this park becomes crowded with hanami goers every spring. Also in early summer, around 25,000 azaleas burst into flower and at night time you can enjoy the wildly dancing fireflies. Kakumaki is a must-see of the park. Approximately 340 years old, this Inumaki conifer has been pruned into a square and is overwhelmingly large at around 50 meters square. The park also features a pond and children's play area, making it a popular spot for families to relax.
