Jikkaen Garden

Jikkaen Garden

Jikkaen Garden Jikaen is a garden covering an area of almost 50,000 m2 and overflowing in Japanese atmosphere. In the springtime, 10,000 alpine rose and 30,000 azalea which have been grown for 10 years, burst into flower and bury the garden in a blanket of color.
But there is beauty to be enjoyed at anytime of the year - the fresh foliage in summer, the autumn leaves in fall and the snowy landscape of winter. We particularly recommend seeing the park at spring as the beautiful scenery is bound to leave an impression. From the viewing platform, gaze over a sea of flowers for as far as the eye can see. In one corner of the park there is a memorial art museum for locally-born Japanese artist, Harumi Tateishi. The museum exhibits bijin paintings made by Tateishi and are in perfect harmony with the atmosphere of the park. There is also a restaurant where one can fully savor the elegant atmosphere and delicious flavors.
