Hanashobu (Japanese Irises) Garden, Yamato Chuo Park

Hanashobu (Japanese Irises) Garden, Yamato Chuo Koen Park Hanashobu, or Japanese iris, is a flower which has been admired by samurais since long ago for the way in which its leaves stretch sharply and strongly upwards like a sword. Between late May and mid-June every year, the hanashobu burst into bloom and the Yamato Central Park Hanashobu Garden buzzes with crowds of people who have come to see the flowers. In the approximately 1-hectare garden, you can enjoy an impressionable view of 40,000 hanashobu, comprising of 100 varieties from the Edo line, Ise line and Hizen line. Come and see for yourself in the hanashobu's flowering season (please confirm). All four seasons can be enjoyed in this park, with 60 Japanese zelkova, sakura and maple trees, 1200 hydrangea, 885 rhododendron indica and azalea, etc. There are many structures in the park such as a kabukimon gate, a yatsutsumon gate, higashiya and taiko bridge and visitors can enjoy the scenery while relaxing at the rest area. Moreover, while the hanashobu are in bloom, there are also stalls which sell local goods such as vegetables and manju cakes.
